Digital Foundations is an introduction to concepts, vocabulary, and methods of using technology as an instrument for creating art and design. Emphasis is placed on active learning through exercises, experimentation, and extended projects that introduce students to the many software programs and hardware available on campus. Assignments are designed to build basic digital literacy & creative problem-solving skills, while instilling a discipline about the working processes of the studio artist. Lectures, demonstrations, video recordings and critiques will be used to exemplify and reinforce the course content.
